The Vegetarian Society held their first award ceremony in 2001 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London. It was a glitzy affair attended by Vegetarian Society members and the general public. The evening included a celebrity charity auction and a raffle with prizes donated by vegetarian-friendly companies, raising money for their charitable work. Since 2009 they decided to introduce an exciting new format focusing on Vegetarian Society Approved products and an invitation-only ceremony.
The Vegsoc Approved Awards give the people who produce vegetarian products a chance to celebrate, as well as letting them know what their customers love. The VegSoc Approved Awards are open to all vegetarian products or services and are designed to reward excellence.
